@crybaby2024: line in ur 3L?
if i heated up plant nugs and freezer fries but i made a cucumber salad on the side thn it counts as a healthy homecooked meal right
that counts as frozen carcinogen din din

so whats the consensus on the "special" reserve vs. not? any chance it was just the people they waited until the very last min to send decisions to?
CTCSH
15:46
It means they are special, bestie
15:48
@GloveDontSplitUMustAcquit: yes 15/15 alas: i mean i dont think they'd just say it to say it. I think they likely go to those applicants first. 15/15
im getting this by pulling it out of my ass and sprinkling vibes on it but i would bet it's to encourage you to stay on the waitlist by being like "youre on the special one"
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp
15:51
@alas: sometimes they pull from all aWLs equally sometimes they take half from special
CTCSH
15:51
It is the peacock reserve lol like “i mayyyyy go on a date with you later and you should know it is very likely, just gotta go and see if Ronaldo is here first” lol
SeanStrickland2024
15:52
My guess is that they’re doing what GULC does and using the waitlist tier to entice the candidates they’re most worried about withdrawing
ClassyPleasantHeron
15:52
@Mountaineer99: It's probably NYU, not CLS. I have a hard time keeping them straight.
CTCSH
15:53
Or it could be a psyop lol like “this will make em stick around til august when we reallyyyy need to fill 20 spots from yield projection failures” lol
but i remember someone saying that usually they try to maintain whatever percentage of whatever type of applicant in their class that they want. like if they want x amount of PI focused applicants theyll look for that first regardless of if theyre on the special or regular, or for a certain LSAT/GPA median, age/level of WE, etc
CTCSH
15:54
^ manifest fucks lol
15:54
people who want big law? what were your essays like? genuinely no hate, but i don't know how i would write one of those. Like im passionate about mergers and acquisitions.. lol. but forreal, i'm jw
at the risk of sounding like an incel i can assure you that is painfully untrue lmao
@crybaby2024: i imagine stressing the intellectual challenges associated with that kind of practice over the ends
i'm not one of them though
i made a PI-focused application but i imagine being like "i like tough challenging jobs and working hard and i appreciate the law and helping the world run smoothly"
SeanStrickland2024
15:56
I just lied lmao @crybaby2024:
sean that cracked me up
CTCSH
15:57
Crybaby2024 message me next year and i show u mine lol
15:57
like that's what i think i would do if i wanted big law. Just cuz its so much easier to write a compelling i wanna save the world essay than like "i love helping the economy and the poor marginalized 1%" lol
i can also imagine it reads like a business school application
SeanStrickland2024
15:58
Lmao yep I said I wanna help people, in reality I just want money
like "this is what im good at so i want to do it"
babybunny
15:58
everyone wants PI on their law school application
UnwrittenOssifiedRoadrunner
15:58
But if you can write a good "here's why I think securities regulation is important and I want to learn about it" you'll stand out against all the "I want to be an international human rights lawyer"
babybunny
15:58
cuz it makes you sound like a “good person”
