I already do hate myself, but I think I know the result
"Admissions Committee has decided to postpone making a final decision on your candidacy, and we are placing your application in our Reserve group"

1 year work experience also really helps your chances
this is a waitlist?
babybunny
13:18
reserve group is fancy waitlist
babybunny
13:18
cornell does this too

@SplitterusClitterus: the first step is acceptance friend
I have two years of law firm experience and great professional LORs, if I do end up waiting a year I will probably get a different job
just for variet
@amlaw: of what HAHA im confused
ohhhhhhh
fancy waitlist
babybunny
13:19
i don't think they care about variety especially unless it's a more impressive/unique position

@CanadaGoose: would it be feasible to bring a car to NY? I would hate to sell mine.
amlaw

o
13:19
A retake can be worthwhile if you're below median for the school(s) you're waiting on
amlaw
13:19
do not bring a car
babybunny
13:19
^
amlaw
13:20
you'd be paying at least $400 a month for a garage
TwinPeacock
13:20
I just paid that sucker off 😭
amlaw
13:20
street parking is almost non existent here
babybunny
13:20
i know a guy who has a car in nyc and he says it's cheaper to just leave it on the street and get tickets than to pay for a garage
13:20
A car to NYC? Are you crazy? Unless you wanna pay like $400 a month for parking
TwinPeacock
13:21
It’s worth about $25k so would be good for living expenses
usc e wave happening rn??
13:21
@babybunny: It actually is because there is an app where you can dispute parking tickets, and the city almost never bothers disputing them
13:22
Selling it and buying another one in 3 years (maybe eating 20% of the value in transaction costs) >>>> spending $15,000 on parking, whatever you pay for insurance/gas, and eating three years of depreciation while the car mostly sits in place
babybunny
13:22
he's also had his catalytic convertor stolen multiple times so i don't think having a car in the city would be worth it for me
babybunny
13:22
converter sorry
KnowledgeableRitzyWasp

Not bringing a car to a city is the move
