Help us make LSD better!
Tell us what's important to you
again which schools are casually letting minorities in if AA still exist which schools are doing it
I feel like extra time is gonna matter so much less with no logic games low key
or are you just saying shit lmao
12:23
@tetongravity: wealth privielge does not remove 1387437847 years and imbedded racism that minorities face on a daily basis outside of wealth
12:24
i think it's a fallacy that you can't separate the two (class/race). there certainly is race privilege but i think class is far more telling. the historical poors will get shafted, the historical rich will get richer. with exceptions. saying they're fundamentally tied negates the reality of class privilege separate from race (rural poorz)
12:24
rich minorities are not disadvantaged in attaining a high lsat and gpa go argue with a wall lol idc what you say. if u think they are we cannot speak.
12:24
Idk but constitutional law class is gonna hit some of y’all hard
I agree it will matter less but it mattered for our cycle. I know two people who found out how to get extra time.
12:25
@HorseyMed: i agree
yeah extra time is a lot easier to get than people think
12:25
you could always just ask nicely
Those same rich minorites may have outscored you.

Both of my parents were poor immigrants who became lawyers regardless of racism or wealth disparity…

Extra time is super easy to get, just have some scummy online doctor say you have adhd and then bam you’re good
I've never been diagnosed with a mental issue tho (shockingly)
I mean San Antonio v. Rodriguez ruled that wealth-based discrimination in school funding did not violate EPA.

What some fail to understand is diversity is an important goal in and of itself. Even if that means racial minorities currently being admitted are upper middle class and above. That creates a system where slowly you can see social mobility in minority groups. It’s not a perfect system, and as an ORM, I am hurt by it. But if it’s the only way we can achieve racial diversity in law schools, I think it is justified in the status quo.
12:26
@ColorfulThickBullfrog: if your parents were still successful than racism must not exist
12:26
Y’all are missing the whole point hahaha

The people saying affirmative action by race is better than it by income aren’t answering the point. Obama’s children should not be given an advantage relative to a poor Asian kid in rural Mississippi. A Hispanic who was raised in a $2M+ income household should be treated as equivalent to a Hispanic raised in a household where income was less than $30k a year, yet that’s the affirmative action system the left endorses.
12:27
@CallHerDaddy: at what point in time do the sins of the past give way to the reality of the present? SCOTUS basically confirmed that the time has already come to acknowledge but also move forward. We can do everything we can to reconcile, but holding onto AA now is backwards.
12:27
oh wait is it another AA debate
12:27
my B
@HellWoods2024. Its an undeserved advantage while we all ponied up on the allocated time.
12:27
but it's not sins of the past
12:27
it's active discrimination alive and well today
ColorfulThickBullfrog
12:27
I just don’t see it as an excuse. My mom was a dirt poor illegals immigrant who spent the first decade of her life picking fruit fields instead of attending school and she made it. She just wanted it bad enough
@SplitOnMe: AA AND accommodations debate
12:27
It’s not about rich minorities being able to score well with resources it’s about years and years of shit
Ijustwannagetinman

The entire point of income based affirmative action isn’t to say that race and income aren’t intertwined. That’s part of the point! It still accomplishes increases equitable representation without treating an entire race as a monolith.
