Tell us what's important to you
its always hard for me to tell if i like something i wrote because i just read it and re read it and re read it until i hate it
16:38
i think it also doesnt help that the 175 is my third try and my degree gpa is lower than my cumulative. so an adcom could look at my app and go "hmmmm....FRAUD" lol
MightyUnableSphinx
16:39
nah that's wrong your stats fuck hard
Ijustwannagetinman
16:39
Yeah it's definitely nothing to do with your stats lol
do we think it is going to reflect poorly on people who R&R with significantly higher scores after they get rid of LG?
16:39
I understand why you wanna reason through what could've gone wrong but at the same time @chag this is a much less reasonable process than it should be and it doesn't really point to a deficiency on your end
16:39
oh im not saying im a fraud lol. i know I've grown and learned and they're reflective of me. just theorizing
MightyUnableSphinx
16:40
it's gotta be the PS right, there is literally no world where its your stats
MightyUnableSphinx
16:40
you are a top 1% applicant for sureeee
16:40
@tarzacc: v true v true
@MightyUnableSphinx: feel like the ps is allways the issue
MightyUnableSphinx
16:40
yeah idk i just think there is inherent tension in the PS where like
MightyUnableSphinx
16:40
you want to be the main character (this makes sense, it is a personal statement) but you don't want to come across as having main character sydrome
do you trust your LOR writers to have written strong statements?

Adcomms are bad at their jobs I’ve said it before and I’ll say it ag

MightyUnableSphinx
16:42
well i guess if you are doomed to a fate of... having a full ride to the 16th best law school in the world, that's like a pretty sick ass fate lmao
16:42
@manifestT14acceptances: mostly! i got two amazing professors and one employer who said he had never written a LOR before but that the one he wrote for me was very cheesy and positive
@crybaby2024: I had read unmaking of June farrow and asked for similar requests, someone recommended it. ill start that one tonight
i think a decent tip for fighting that, @MightyUnableSphinx: since you seem concerned about your PS is to write about a time where you did something like WITH someone else, not necessarily "write about a time where you had to work on a team" but just like you AND someone else are main characters and you guys have the same goal
16:42
yeah and plus i wanna work in TX, so. UT is also notably the only school i sent a diff PS to, so.
@CondemnedPuffyGnome: I don't think so - if anything, it shows better strength in reading and argument dissection
MightyUnableSphinx
16:43
@manifestT14acceptances: my PS is a weird one
oh sorry for some reason i thought you hadnt written one yet nvm hell with my advice just do what you feel
MightyUnableSphinx
16:43
idk what to do with it because i think it's extremely differentiating and i am not sure how to write about for adcom (which is why im considering hiring a consultant)
16:43
I thought mine was good, but then I started second guessing it about a month after submitting apps
