Under this bill, ByteDance has the option to sell to investors not under the control of the Chinese government and avoid a ban. Financially this would be much better for them than a ban in the U.S., so if TikTok does not take that route it's safe to say the "lever of influence in the U.S." part matters more to the CCP than the profits

spider what are your goals? i feel like you've changed your mind a lot but hearing your goals might help us give advice
I want to do estate planning in southeast PA/NJ. Temple is good for that. No tuition. I just wanna end it tryna find an apartment near temple bc its in a heinous area
@NarwhalOfLife: thanks this article is what I was looking for! The solution of forcing tik tok to be sold sounds disingenuous when again you could just say hey don't force users to sign their data (such as their location) away just to use the app
@ararara: i thought it was a good article because it actually explains why an efveryday user should care

I feel like based on your goals, going to temple on a full ride is ideal? I mean, you may have to take out loans for cost of living but im sure you could also find a cheap room in an apartment or house. i dont think it makes sense to not take the full ride because of rent. but obviously you know your finances better than we do
