@legendarytempest: Don't have any special info on the codification, but if future administrations make any changes to the plan those will likely apply to new entrants only
I would never bet against the willingness of certain political figures to give student borrowers the finger, but with federal programs where benefits accrue over time (rather than year by year) it's unusual to make terms worse for participants without some type of sunset period/grandfathering in of current participants
By mid-late March, schools' admitted student programming is starting, so they try and admit the candidates they like most in time for a full press of recruiting
