@LegalBlondie: is it the lawhub one? or the one where it says fiu at the top
20:15
To check your FIU Status use the one found on their JD Admissions page. It takes forever for them to send your login. Once they do you can login and see. If you are admitted, you'll see a 200$ seat deposit. It took them about 3-5 days before I was sent an acceptance letter but the deposit means that you have been accepted

@TeddyTy: they havent sent me login info and it says a decision has been rendered so i cant even check
11:35
Any idea when the first seat deposit deadline is? Just got my WL :(
14:47
@LegalBlondie: wow how with your stats! I'm sorry. The amount of WL this year if absolutely ridiculous. Seems like all they care about this year is 160< lsat... wonder if their recent jump in us news ranking has anything to do w this. Anyways, I dont know the exact date as I was also WL but I have heard april 1. Could be wrong though
15:52
@Rockxtar: Thank you for your kind words. They have a clear 159/160 cut off with the exception of a few here or there, defo due to their new rankings. So unfortunate as I feel as though my numbers dont define me and I would be an asset to the class :(
Anyone admitted, what are you doing for housing? This school is great but the COA is INSANE.
I tried to find reasonable housing but no luck. Seriously considering going somewhere else, at least for 1L.
same. FIU themselves has a listing of people renting in the area. some people are renting rooms for around 700 a month. Not ideal but i could definitely do a college style living as long as i am NOT rooming with anyone in undergrad. I sent 2 negotiation emails this week, if MSU and UNH make it so its less than 10k a year i definitely will attend. It's a shame, FIU rose 25 spots in a year and i think they will continue to increase their rank.. miami is just WAY too expensive.
@WideMouthedFrog: you got a massive scholarship youll get a great education and have less than 40k debt, sounds like a good deal to me
@FlutteringSqueamishPuffin I'm out of state so the scholarship I got was basically oos tuition waiver plus $3K per year. Not so massive, especially when housing is going to be $20+K year too.
FIU Admissions told me they will do a clearing of unclaimed scholarship funds in April, so some who didn't get $ might get some after all. They also said they are working to find some housing option for law students.
21:58
Housing is currently a mess for FIU. You'll have to bite the bullet and pay higher rent. I'm looking at signing for 1600$ a month but that's mainly so I can live on my own in a tiny studio. For those who were asking, the seat deadline is April 1st, I just had to pay mine.
ojh shit that is massive
if i attend i found housing where its shared off campus with other graduate students around 800-900 for the bedroom. not ideal but better than studio pricing
i got a full ride to faulkner. its tempting but i dont think i can really habe the career i want if i go to a school ranked 155

@TeddyTy: Thank you for letting us know about the seat deposit deadline!
I am still unclear, what is the tuition at FIU for out of state residents?
